Dr. Julianna Shamoon – Periodontist & Dental Implant Specialist

Dr. Julianna Shamoon is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon
who believes great care starts with compassion, clarity, and trust. Known for her gentle
chairside manner and calm presence, she takes time to listen, explain, and guide
patients through treatment options.

A meaningful part of Dr. Shamoon’s career has been her long-standing commitment to
caring for our nation’s veterans. After graduating from Tufts University School of
Dental Medicine, she completed a competitive two-year postgraduate General
Practice Residency at Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Hospital in Chicago. She
continued serving veterans while completing advanced specialty training in
Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans
Affairs Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Along the way, she also served as an
Associate Program Director and Periodontist at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs
Hospital, helping train future dentists while continuing to care for patients.

In private practice, Dr. Shamoon focuses on helping patients protect and restore their
oral health using modern, patient-friendly techniques. She treats gum disease,
receding gums, and bone loss, and helps patients replace missing teeth with dental
implants designed to look and function naturally. Her care often includes laser therapy
for gum disease (LANAP®), minimally invasive gum grafting (VISTA and tunneling
techniques), as well as bone and site development (ridge augmentation, sinus
lifts, implant site optimization).

Dr. Shamoon is an experienced specialist and maintains active membership in the
American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Outside the office, Dr. Shamoon enjoys time with family and friends, staying active, and
exploring the outdoors with her dog, Addison. A proud Chicago native, she may be
caught cheering for the Bulls when they play the Bucks.
