Dr. Jung Yoon – Periodontist & Dental Implant Surgeon

Dr. Jung Yoon is a periodontist and implant surgeon dedicated to rebuilding the foundation of healthy smiles. He combines surgical precision with a patient-first approach, helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their care.

A Texas Longhorn to start, Dr. Yoon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by his Master of Medical Science and D.M.D. at LECOM in Florida. He went on to specialize in periodontics and implantology at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned his M.S., was named Chief Resident of the Department of Periodontics, and trained in advanced surgical care through Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital.

His work has earned recognition and reached the wider field: he received the American Academy of Periodontology’s 2023 Student Award and the Michigan Periodontal Association’s 2026 Outstanding Graduate Student Clinical Case Award. His research, spanning peri-implantitis and regenerative implant therapy, includes a clinical case series published in the 2025 Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. He has presented his work before the Michigan Periodontal Association, the American Dental Education Association, and the Ramfjord Symposium.

In practice, Dr. Yoon places dental implants and treats the full range of periodontal needs, including guided bone regeneration, sinus augmentation, soft-tissue grafting, crown lengthening, treatment of periodontal disease, and the removal of wisdom teeth. He favors minimally invasive, tissue-sparing techniques like VISTA and tunneling grafting and offers IV sedation so that even complex surgery feels calm and comfortable—because great outcomes should never come at the cost of the patient’s ease.

Outside the operatory, Dr. Yoon carries the curiosity of a lifelong student and the perspective of a journey that has spanned Austin, Florida, Michigan, and now Wisconsin. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and discovering great food and new cuisines wherever he goes, always looking forward to the next place to explore and the next thing to learn.
